John wanted to make better use of his time, so he decided to focus on improving his awareness of how he spent his days. He set a goal to track his net time using a stopwatch. Every hour, he recorded his activities to gain insight into his habits. After a week, John found that he spent an average of only two hours on his Most Vital Priority tasks, which he found ridiculous. To change this, he created a predefined schedule with reasonable breaks. He aimed to avoid distractions and set lofty expectations for improvement. By focusing on his awareness and using a stopwatch, John was able to better manage his time and work toward his goals. His reasonable approach allowed him to increase his productivity on average, and soon, his lofty goals no longer seemed so ridiculous.
